Producer Information:
Castello Monaci is a good example of the New Wave of Southern Italian wineries that are increasingly offering an authentic taste of the Med without breaking the bank. The estate has been recently acquired, and completely restructured, by the Gruppo Italiano Vini wine group and the results are already showing through. The wines are classically Puglian: warm, spicy and peppery reds from native Puglian grape varieties such as Primitivo and Negroamaro.
