Tasting Notes for Glenguin Old Broke Block Semillon 2005 75cl:
Crisp, bright and fresh zippy lemon and lime citrus notes on both nose and palate. Light in alcohol with juicy, mouthwatering acidity and fine minerality, this is a superb seafood wine.
Producer Information:
Scottish Baron, exile from the House of Lords and former racing driver, Robin Tedder MW is an evangelist for New South Wales' wines. As you might expect Hunter Valley Shiraz and Semillon are his twin passions and ten minutes in his company is all you need to be convinced of their greatness. Future Glenguin projects to look out for include a Glengoyne malt whisky finished in Robin's Shiraz barrels and some very exciting Tannat from a maturing vineyard planted in 1997.

Vineyard Name
Old Broke Block
Regional Info
The Hunter Valley is Australia's Semillon country. Hot, cloudy and sub-tropical, it isn't the most obvious place to make wine but the conditions produce wonderful Semillons with light alcohol, bags of citrus and an ability to age brilliantly in the cellar.
Vinification Details
The grapes are gently crushed and cool fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for three months on its lees. No oak is used at any point.
