Tasting Notes for Deakin Estate Chardonnay 2006 75cl:
Light yellow with lime green tints. White peach, apple and lime notes with a touch of biscuity oak on the nose. The palate is elegant showing ripe stone fruit and citrus flavours in a touch of malty oak. Middle palate richness provides pleasing mouthfeel and the finish is fresh yet persistent.
Producer Information:
Named after a former Aussie Prime Minister who oversaw the transformation of Victoria’s Murray River region from arid, near desert into a major agricultural region, Deakin Estate was founded in the 1960s launching the current eponymous range in 1994. The Murray River region is one of Australia’s warmer regions and this is reflected in the bold, fruity, forward style of the wines.

Food Match
The purity of fruit recommends this wine as a match to bright, modern dishes like warm chicken salad or lightly spiced Thai dishes.
Ageing Potential
Easily enjoyed young but will also develop some further complexities if cellared for two to four years. Serve lightly chilled.
