Delicate, tongue-tingling, musky apricot fruit with a lingering mineral and spice finish. Albarino has become achingly trendy - and deservedly so. Perfect seafood match.
Producer Information:
The delightful Angela Martin and her husband Andrew McCarthy run the Castro Martin estate, in Rias Baixas, on Spain's Galician coast. A one grape winery, this Bodega is all about Albarino and Castro Martin has led the way in the grape's recent revival. Angela was one of the first winemakers to recognise the benefits of cool, temperature controlled fermentations to protect Albarino's delicate, aromatic fruit.

Regional Info
The grapes were sourced from the best growers in the Val do Salnes, the coolest area of the Rias Baixas DO. The vines are trained high in the traditional Pergola style that allows air to circulate around the bunches and prevents problems with disease in this cool, maritime climate.
Vinification Details
All the grapes were hand-harvested and gently pressed with a pneumatic press. the juice was then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel. It was lightly fined and filtered before bottling. No oak was used at any point in the production.
