What should I drink with cheese?
The old adage about red wine with cheese is not at all the whole story. Some red wines actually don’t compliment dairy at all. Equally, some cheeses don’t want to be drunk with reds. A good example: Goats cheese, which is perfect with Sauvignon Blanc. Or Munster cheese which is a great partner for Gewurztraminer. Mosel Riesling with everything, according to Gareth. Sweet wine, too, has some good friends in the cheese fraternity; for example the classic Sauternes and Stilton combo is pretty hard to beat.
