What do 'Duty Paid' and VAT mean?
Duty is the charge incurred for shipping the wine into the country which is currently £18 per 12. In addition, VAT (Value Added Tax) is incurred at 17.5% which is for the consumption of the wine. For bonded storage these are not payable until release; which is more suitable for those buying wine as an investment rather than to drink straightaway.
