Bourgogne Blanc Domaine Michelot (12 x 75cl)

Score: 15.5/20, Bibendum Commune: Meursault

Lifted citrus on the nose and good weight of fruit on the palate too. Clean and crisp with just an edge of spice. Pretty good length for the appellation too.

Meursault Clos Saint Felix Domaine Michelot (12 x 75cl)

Score: 16.5 Commune: Meursault

From a small clos just behind the house on the edge of the village. Much more weight than the regular village wine. Very generous style with hazelnuts and cream balanced by the fine acidity.

Very racy, fresh style of Meursault. Quite taut and sleek with the fruit richness tucked away for a rainy day. Will fatten up superbly.

Very forward, quite fruity style from a vineyard high up on the Cote towards Auxey-Duresses. Unmistakeable Chardonnay character and almost ready to drink now.

Meursault en La Barre Domaine Francois Jobard (12 x 75cl)

Touch of botrytis with a honeyed, sweet, ripe attack. Great acidity too. Really very good and it won't budge for ages.

Montagny 1er Cru Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot (12 x 75cl)

Bold, fruity and fun. Lots going on. A no brainer - the wine is brilliant for the cash.

Clos de Tart Grand Cru Mommessin (Magnums)

Score: n/a Commune: Morey St-Denis

We drove past the huge white sign on the wall of the Clos half a dozen times on our travels up and down the Cote but unfortunately didn’t manage to taste the 2006. The star of our 2005 EP tasting, we are sure Clos de Tart will be superb this year too.

Nuits St-Georges Domaine Emmanuel Rouget (12 x 75cl)

Score: 17.5/20, Bibendum Commune: Nuits St-George

Dark and serious. One look tells you all you need to know. Lots of black fruits on the nose and an almost liqueur like richness to the palate. Bold and spicy. One hell of a village wine.

Nuits St-Georges 1er Cru Les Proces Domaine Robert Arnoux (6 x Magnums)

Score: 16.5/20, Bibendum Commune: Nuits St-George

The suppleness of the tannins compared to other growers we tasted (we loathe the phrase 'tannin management', but it gets the message across) is the standout feature of Pascal’s wines this year. This is a showcase example: pure, ripe and soft with great balance.
