The Regan Report and Cocktail Recipes

Cocktail columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, Gaz Regan has just published the Regan Report 2014 based on the 101 Best New Cocktails. The report details trends in the bar business, looking at spirits, liqueurs, bitters and oddities that have proved to be the most popular among bartenders over the past year.

 

Here are three cocktails featuring spirits that have been hitting the headlines worldwide over the the last twelve months.

Averna


Amore Amaro

50ml Amaro Averna Siciliano, 25ml fresh lemon, 15 Cherry Heering, 10ml sugar syrup, 5ml balsamic cherry vinegar.

Shake, martini glass, mild chilli powder and icing sugar rim

Rock Star Breakfast

40ml Pierre Ferrand 1840 Cognac, 20ml Lairds Apple Jack, 20ml fresh lemon juice, 17.5ml smoked maple syrup, 2.5ml Strega.

Shake, rocks glass, lemon twist garnish

Chilli Martini

50ml Citadelle Gin, 10ml Pierre Ferrand Dry Curacao, 15ml Orgeat, 10ml fresh lemon juice, 35ml fresh apple juice, 3 slices fresh chilli.

Shake, double strain, chilli ring garnish
