Why Work for Bibendum?
Because we do things a bit differently
Bibendum employs just under 250 people and is growing fast. We pride ourselves on being one of the most dynamic wine companies in the industry and we recruit people who share our outlook.
Variety of Backgrounds
The people who work here come from a variety of backgrounds; some have worked in the wine industry for their whole career, some are keen to make a start in it, and some are here because of a certain job rather than the industry itself. There are opportunities for all staff to get involved in wine whether it’s through helping out at tastings or attending the fortnightly tasting club.
Internal Promotion
We really encourage internal promotion and a lot of the people in senior positions in the company started in support roles. We don’t have a set promotion route, it’s about people working out the direction they want to go in and being promoted on the strength of their hard work and talent.
Benefits
All our employees have access to our online flexible benefits system when they first join. From day one they can make use of our corporate rate on a number of benefits including gym membership, dental insurance and health screenings. After they have been with the company for a certain period of time most employees are entitled to company-funded benefits such as private medical insurance and life assurance.
Career Development
Bibendum’s wide ranging Learning and Development programme is available to all of our people. There are several different components to the programme, in recognition of the range of skills and abilities currently within the business as well as the future needs of the business and our people; these include leadership and management skills, and of course sales training. We recognise that engaging all of our people with our values and culture is key to our ongoing success, and this is a core element of the programme. We also have a mentoring scheme which aims to bring impartial, fresh perspectives and alternative insights to enable Bibendumites to take ownership of their personal and professional development.
We Love Wine
Additionally we recognise that our wine enthusiasts may want to study for WSET qualifications, while finance staff may want professional accreditation – whatever the need, we aim to support our people in achieving their professional goals through a combination of funding and study leave.
Get Involved
Alongside their main jobs a number of our employees are involved in the charity and environmental committees – The Corkscrew and Vivid respectively. We nominate a different charity to support every few years and have successfully raised a lot of money over the years via marathon running, cake sales and even sky diving! The Vivid team work on both improving the way we work in the office by making it really easy to recycle and sending out information on how to reduce our carbon footprints.
