Raising money for Action Against Hunger
So far in 2013…
Elena Parry pounded 26.1 miles of the capital in April in a brilliant time of 4 hours and 16 minutes raising more than £1,600 in the process.
Two teams of intrepid Bibendumites walked an epic 54 miles through the Brecon Beacons in just 24 hours, fuelled by extensive supplies of ibuprofen, Haribo and Ormes de Pez 2000. The nine walkers may have skimped a bit on the pre-event training but their stubborn determination to finish never wavered as the teams completed the course in 20.5 and 23.5 hours respectively. They raised a brilliant £4,000 for Action Against Hunger.
Bibendum Supper Club
Originally conceived as Trekfeast, a tasty way to raise money for the Trekfest, the Bibendum Supper Club is on its way to becoming an institution. The concept is simple, every couple of months someone takes control of the stoves in the office kitchen and rustles up a gourmet extravaganza for 16 hungry colleagues. The latest instalment was Marcus and Joel’s West Country Cider Dinner that raised over £250.
The Great Bibendum Bake Off
Michael and Fiona took the roles of Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry to judge the skills of Bibendum’s finest bakers. Thankfully, there were precious few soggy bottoms on display. The winning cake was a pumpkin cheesecake by Lynanne Coffey and we raised over £70.
The great £10 Challenge
In October 2013, we gave 18 teams from across the business a crisp £10 note and asked them to use their entrepreneurial skills to try and turn the tenner into a cool £1000 in just eight months. The teams are just starting out – watch this space for more details.
